The Partnership Charter is a must read for anyone considering entering a partnership, and even more important, if you’re in a partnership and unsure whether you should continue or not. David Gage is the undisputed leader in getting partners started out on the right foot, or partners slipping sideways back on track.
The Partnership Charter helped me avoid business failure not once, but twice! An advisor gave me David’s book when I was considering merging my business with another company. It was like divine intervention! The partner examples in the book hit home. When my first potential business partner wouldn’t read the book, let alone do a PC, I “got it” and dodged that bullet! The second potential partner – a possible successor – and I completed an entire PC working with two PC facilitators. We luckily discovered things we never would otherwise, and that saved us from fully tying the knot.
The third time was a charm and I’m now in a partnership with a truly exceptional company. We achieved clarity about our deal, how we’d work together and what my exit strategy would be. Having been through the PC process before, I knew exactly how to achieve a successful outcome.
The PC Workbook asks all the critical questions from exploring your values and styles to getting down to the “nitty gritty” of governance, equity, and resolving disputes. No stone is left unturned. Dr. Gage is a partnership master, one who even appreciates when to bring in other experts.
I can’t recommend the book and PC process highly enough. In fact, I’ve recommended the book and the process to multiple colleagues and have been thanked profusely!
